SpyBot Search & Destroy User Guide

By now, you're familiar with the Spybot Search & Destroy icon on your desktop. After opening it, this will be the 1st screen you see.

(In this case, there was only 1 problem, so it didn't harm my computer at all nor did it slow it down significantly. If you find more than 50 problems, there should be a noticeable improvement after cleaning them out.)

Sometimes, you'll get a message saying SS&D wasn't able to clean everything, and that a reboot is necessary. Upon rebooting, SS&D will run automatically and try to eradicate the problem.

The frequency of scans will depend on how many problems show up in your list. Try running through these steps every two weeks and if your list is very short, do so less frequently.
